Accessible & professional legal services for the community
Community Legal Centres South Australian Inc. (CLCSA) is the peak body for all Community Legal Centres in South Australia. Our State Office is a small team providing support to, and representation for our member Centres, in government and community fora.
CLC's are independent, not- for-profit organisations which provide legal advice, casework, referral and, in some cases, legal representation to members of the community that support South Australians to resolve legal problems that contributes positively to:
- a person’s health and wellbeing,
- their ability to manage other challenges in their lives and
- their capacity to contribute to their community.
There are a number of legal centres located throughout Metropolitan and Rural South Australia. Most centres serve people who live or work in their geographical area.
CLC have qualified solicitors, legal advisors and support staff who can explain the full extent of your legal obligations, your rights and remedies and outline a number of choices and courses for action.
Most centres provide their services free of charge, but please enquire when booking as to whether fees are charged by the individual service (see services provided).
CLCs’ work is targeted at people experiencing or vulnerable to disadvantage and those with special needs, and in undertaking matters in the public interest. CLCs have been advocating for a rights-based approach and equitable access to the justice system in Australia for over 40 years.
